The Easiest Methods for Repairing a Torn Lace Front Wig

Installing and plucking the wig lace can tear it, especially if it's a thin HD lace wig.  In this situation, a lot of individuals decide to either give it up to purchase a new one or send it to be fixed.  You are no longer required to do it.  It turns out that fixing a lace frontal wig is not as difficult as you might assume.  Next, we'll demonstrate two quick and simple methods for repairing lace wig holes.

Hack 1: Replace the Lace Closure

What You Will Need to Prepare in Advance if You Own a Lace Wig:

Step 1: Remove the old, torn lace fastening so that the piece can be peeled off.

Step 2: Remove the old top and fasten the new piece to the base of the wig.  It's as easy as 1-2-3.

Hack 2: Use Tape To Fix The Ripped Wig

What You Will Need To Prepare In Advance:

• Bonding Tape;
• 3M Transpore tape;
• Your damaged lace frontal wig;
• A Styrofoam wig head;
• Some pins;
• Acetone;
• Knot sealer;
• Some water;
• A wide-toothed comb;

Step 1: To get rid of any knots or tangles, spray the hair with a little water and brush it through from the bottom up using a wide-toothed comb.

Step 2: To ensure you can see the area you need to repair, turn the lace front wig inside out until the lace is facing you entirely. Then, fix the wig on the styrofoam wig head with pins.

Step 3: Use acetone to clean the area that's been ripped, spray a light layer of knot sealer on the rear area to straighten the lace, and then allow the knot sealer to dry for five minutes.

Step 4: Use some pins to pin the edges of the tear together so that the ripped edges are touching.

Step 5: After removing the back paper, cut a piece of bonding tape that is just a little bit bigger than the hole that has been torn, and cover the torn area with it.  To make sure the tape has adhered to the lace, use your fingers to press it firmly onto it. Then, take off the leftover paper.

Step 6: To keep the tape from adhering to your scalp, cover it with a sheet of 3M clear tape.  Keep in mind that the transport tape must match the bonding tape patch in size.  After cutting, lay the transport tape over the bonding tape and press it down firmly.

Hack 3: Use a Needle To Repair It

What You Will Need To Prepare In Advance:

• Needle;
• Thread;
• Your damaged lace wig;
• A Styrofoam wig head;
• Some pins;
• Acetone;
• Some Water;
• A wide-toothed comb;

Step 1: To get rid of any knots or tangles, mist the hair with a little water and brush it through from the bottom up with a wide-toothed comb.

Step 2: Turn your lace wig inside out until the lace is completely facing you, and then use some pins to secure the wig on the styrofoam wig head so that you can clearly see the area you need to repair.

Step 3: Use acetone to clean the area that's been ripped.

Step 4: Use some pins to pin the edges of the tear together so that the ripped edges are touching.

Step 5: Choose a sturdy thread that matches the color of your lace to loop it on the needle and then tie it off in the end. You can also thread it through the needle and tie the ends together to make the thread more reinforced.

Step 6: Start with a simple overcast stitch and make sure your stitches are short and close to the tear.  If you just do this, your brush or comb won't subsequently become tangled in the thread.  Remember to tie the thread in a double knot and trim off any extra after you have stitched the entire tear area.

Note:

1. You must make sure the needle is pretty small. After all, a big needle means a bigger hole. Compared to a big needle, a small needle goes through your frontal, which will not cause any more damage than you already have.

2. Please use an invisible thread as a last resort if at all possible.  It is literally not like linen or any kind of fabric thread because it is composed of polyester.  Your lace wig won't break or sustain any additional harm because the thread is extremely elastic and doesn't break.

3. To prevent the holes from getting larger, please begin sewing the lace frontal a little bit farther back from the torn region.  Additionally, to ensure that the thread is fastened into place and secure, the first knot can be made more than once.

Do these steps seem easier than they actually are?  The simplest approach to fix your lace wig, though, is to avoid fixing it at all.  The most important thing to do when wearing wigs is to take adequate care of lace wigs.  For instance, washing and deep-conditioning your wig on a regular basis with the right shampoo and conditioner, not sleeping with your wig at night, and so forth.
